Rafael Correa, you are the best! Viva Ecuador!
By: charlessmyth. on 21 Jun 09, 21:43:48
President Correa has failed to consider that the foreign debt to Ecuador, which he is prepared to default on, is western pension and social security/benefit funds, especially for those who sympathise with the loser economics practiced by President Correa, ironically enough. If Correa persists with this policy, Ecuador will never be able to raise further debt, because no one will be prepared to risk the loss vis-ŕ-vis the likelihood of a future administration defaulting, for similar reasons.

So now instead of a stooge of the US we have a stooge from Venezuela/Cuba? How is that possibly any better? "Only sheeple would believe the propoganda of the past (or present). " YOU DON'T THINK THE EXACT SAME WAY AS I DO YOU MUST THEREFORE HAVE NO OPINION OF YOUR OWN.

By: flyhead2. on 30 Apr 09, 22:04:52
Firstly, I assume that your writing on a keyboard, not a cell-phone, so please use proper words, it's just more civilized. Secondly, the tinpot generals and despots were all stooges of the US, any politicians willing to serve their own countries interests were branded 'communists' and taken out by the CIA or their proxies. Only sheeple would believe the propoganda of the past (or present).
By: Gufberg. on 30 Apr 09, 16:50:54
Viva Fidel Castro, he saved Cuba from a fascist american-supported dictatorship. You apparently neglect to acknowledge that these socialist president are making REAL change. THey are REALLY improving ordinary peoples lives, a feat which NO liberal/right-wing shit government has been able to do in latin america. socialism or death!
By: secatelacara. on 30 Apr 09, 03:06:30
By: taoofmichael. on 29 Apr 09, 21:56:11
In Latin America, you have the very rich, and the very very poor -- much like what we had in America in the 1910-20s. Powerful white men owned and controlled everything. Latin America needs a leader like the American president FDR, who, by his populist policies created a MIDDLE CLASS -- safer working conditions, better pay, small business loans, help buying homes, etc. The WORKING PEOPLE of Latin America deserve a piece of the pie. It isnt perfect. But it is moving in the right direction.
By: fanmaria2. on 29 Apr 09, 21:27:46
well don't be that encouraged, u live in a country were u have liberties and freedom. these countries in latin america r being led 2 a terrible path of corruption, unemployment & crime. Poor people r being manipulated by these leaders to be elected and B in power, but these leasers will make of these democratic countries into communist ones, just like Cuba... Feel empower by countries that give opportunities 2 all the people, not countries with communist leaders disguise as populist presidents.
By: fanmaria2. on 29 Apr 09, 21:19:28
Don't be happy for Ecuador, a path to communism is what we ecuadorians are living. As well as venezuelans... These presidents are using poor people to win their elections, to later just stay in power and abuse of it. There is more crime, more unemployment, more corruption that before they were elected. Pretty soon these presidents will show who they really are when they start to take liberties and freedoms away from its people, just like it happen in Cuba. So don't be happy for us!!
By: kovo88. on 29 Apr 09, 05:48:21
Im happy for Ecuador, but I feel sorry for their president. His actions are quite disappointing to the world powers. I fear a coup or assassination are soon coming... Sad really.

You think that's funny, how about who financed these Revolutions. And the millions of deaths that came along or the ride. The lack of individual rights and property rights, that's what killed it right there.
